Former X Files actor David Duchovny, currently directing the Lions Gate Film’s Film “The House of D” has a blog for the film, fresh with the ability to comment, RSS feeds and even podcasts with an iPodder subsciption blogger.

Duchovny Defies da Mind
You just wouldn't believe how excited i got as i turned to the most recent "blogs of note" column, which is viewable here on blogger to its users on the home page after logging in to the site. i saw the words "david duchovny" and just about had an epileptic fit. clicking on the link, i was transported to his site. Much like zach braff's garden state blog, duchovny has turned his attention to the blogging masses in order to promote his feature film, house of d. i can't tell you (but i will) just how proud i am of those guys (acting like i know them personally?). and, props to david for posting audio entries: i had to play them to know if it was bona fide. because, you know, last year someone started an andy kaufman blog. it was fun, at first, then a bunch of mean people posted rude & obnoxious comments and our creative fellow swifly bowed out. it was unfortunate, but there are fakes out there. i am so impressed when stars put pretense aside (assuming they have any in the first place, but i say that as one who lingers on the sidelines in awe) and reveal their humanity: typos or blunderingly uncomfortable audioblogs invite the everyday joe in for a peak at their secret world. it's wonderfully brave and, in duchovny's case, i hope for a warm reception when house of d hits theaters.

Famous People That I Never Knew Had Blogs Until Now...
I've been finding more and more famous people with blogs now and I figured I'd bring some of them under one roof, as it were, for your perusal. David Duchovny. This one was a surprise, I found out about this via TV Squad and after checking it out, it's not so much a surprise why he has one. Yep, he has something to promote. But that's not a bad thing! All blogs have something to promote someway or another (though don't ask me what mine's promoting, I haven't the faintest). In any case, it's nice to see blogs used in a commercial way and I wonder if Hollywood will take this sort of thing up. Cameron Reilly and Ewan Spence were talking about the possibilities of linking podcasting and films on their inaugural Movie Show podcast, and they mentioned a podcast director's commentary that you play when going to see the movie for the 2nd time. Surely the blog is a small step towards this happening. On David Duchovny's blog there is a podcast of sorts, his latest post is an audio one and I'll be downloading that to satisfy my curiosity.

Looks like Lions Gate Films set up Blogger blogs for a few of their upcoming movies.

So far David Duchovny and Rob Zombie are blogging, and a few other DirectorBlogs are coming soon. Neat!
